LO2: Codes and conventions



Slugline

We intend on updating our slug line to add the location and more detail about the recording locations ect. this is important as it tells the presernters where and when they need to be to do the recording for the recording.



Margins and breaks



We formated our script using the common convention of script writing i.e. size 12, courrier font and we also use the tba;e fomating tool we found when reasearching well established radio scrips i.e. BBC .

We justified our dialogure and speech to the center of the page to make it easier to follow andn so it would follow the recognised codes and conevntions of a script. 


Presenter names



We introduce the presenters names at there begining of the show to tell the audence who is presenting the show, this will help to build up a relation with the audience and build up a brand identity. 






Timings


We  put our in and out times for speech and sound effects in our scrips so we could easily claculate how much time one person would be speaking for  and to accurataly workout how long our boradcst would be.






Dialogue


In responce to our feedback, we decided to break up some of our lines beetween the presenters so that there would be a better back and forth with the presenters dialogue to keep the audeince engaged and so that no one person would have to much to say all at once.


Music

We included music, wihch is in keeping with our targeted audiece of 14-25 year olds in the sheffield area. this is why we have choosen indie bands particularly arctic monkey sound s. We also have used the ins and out times for the music, the duration that it was going to be played and a weblink that it cna be found at so that during postproduction we can effectively refer to it as an effective procution material to pice our product together.



Sound effects


We used sound effects in the begining of our news section to break up the inroduction of the diffrent news stories and to build up our brand identity and help to denote the diffrece between the upcoming stories. We have also included the ins and out times of the sound effects so we can easily put the sound effects in during the post production edit. 



Jingles


The show begins at the top of the hour so we use the jingle during the opening of the show we will use our jingle to build up the  brand and shows identity, the jingle will repeat every 15 minuets.


Interviews/ features



We introdiced the dicussion section to the audience after the music section and told the audiece what we were discussing. We broke up this section to make the dialogue go back and forth more smoothly and keeps the audience enaged.


News

As we are a commercial radio station and our show begins at the top of the hour, we have arranged for the news bullitent to be as the shoe starts so that it can repeat every hour.

Adverts


Like all lines we have included the ins and out times for out radio advert so we could acuratley calculate how long the adverts would run for. in the show, we have chosen to advertise a local sheffield bar as it would be appealing to our target audience, which is prodomeantley student .
