Gaming script flow chart https://imgur.com/gallery/Rzg2p84

The script for a video game uses  a flow chart method to make the users choices within the game decide how the story will play out so the gaming console or PC can understand the cause and effect of the players decisions to the over all trajectory of the game. These sort of scripts allow for the game pay to be personalised the the players preferences and chooses.

This is Non fiction
Language/mode of address

  • A gaming script doesn't address the player directly as it will ask the player to make a decision which will influence the path that the script takes. In games like Fallout 4 the player will receive the questions on their screens which are written in formal and easy to read teacher to pupil language. The mode of address fits the purpose of the script to entertain as it allows the player to make quick and informed decisions to keep the narrative moving at a good pace to keep them engaged. It also fits the target audience as many video game players look for realsme in their games and by including this tyoe of script it allows the illusion of altering the narrative based on their decisions.
Angle of the article
  • This script has no particular angle or bias as it is merely a programming tool which allows decisions that the player makes effect the game and doesn't have any need to make the player think or feel a certain way.
Format and lay out

  • The script is layed out in a flow chart style, which allows of any decision that the player makes during the game to e accounted for and leads the story down the next appropriate path.
3 act script

  • The flow chart even though it isn't very obvious or easy to read dose have a Beginning middle and end to it which can be altered depending on the decisions that the player makes, however will lead to the same conclusion,

Style

  • The script is a gaming style script, meaning that the layout and format is made suitable for it's purpose to giude the player throught a narratie feeling that they are incontrole of how the approach certain situations.

TV Show Script  (Peaky Blinders)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/scripts/peaky-blinders

TV show scripts like peaky blinders use scripts to give stage directions and show dialogue and lines. It also sets the scene to the cast and crew and gives. Given the style and genre of the programme, the stage direction and dialogue gives a good indication of the mise en scene and shows exactly how the programme will look and shows how meaning will be created through the use of camera work and actions.

Mode of address

  • The script has a peer to peer mode of address through the use of restricted codes. As it uses informal language such as swearing and colloquial terms, which are appropriate for the time and place which it is set in, in this case 1930s Birmingham. This sort of mode of address communicates to the audience that they are familiar with each other and are a tight knit group and friends.
Angle of the article
  • The angle of this script is to build up the characters emotions and feelings to the audience about how they feel about certain things i.e. their feelings against the military. The script is also able to show how a lot of the upper class officers in the cavalry discriminate against gypsies and blacks, which shows the bias and prejudice of the times.
Format and lay out
  • The script is layed out in a conventional script lay out using Currier font in font size 12. It is layed out with stage direction and scene information on the left. Lines are in the centre along character with character names in capitals to draw attention to them.
3 act script

  • The script is layed out in 3 acts although the acts are not directly related as they build up the future story. It begins in a fragile equilibrium at the wedding, then they make contact with the Russians, which leads to them killing the Russian spy that they are ordered to assassinate and inevitable Arthur start  fighting with the cavalry, which was explicitly said was not to happen and then finishes back at the betting shop with business as usual (equilibrium).
Style

  • This is a screenplay style script as it uses visuals meaning it requires stage directions and location descriptions, layed out in the conventional styles of its type
  • The script is a TV drama script used for a tv series.

Mode of address
  • The script has a peer to peer mode of address through the use of restricted codes. As it uses informal language such as swearing and humor i.e. he refrers to his cab driver as his 'slender brown friend' which would be seen by the viewer as infomal and friendly, which puts the viewer at ease and is suitable for the target audience as it allows the
Angle of the article
  • The angle of this script is to amuse the audience using dark and adult humor to appeal to the older targer audience.  This scripts fits with the viseral pleasure of escape isme and allows the audience to experiense a reality that is more interesting than their own.
Format and lay out
  • The script is layed out in a conventional script lay out using Currier font in font size 12. It is layed out with stage direction and scene information on the left. Lines are in the centre along character with character names in capitals to draw attention to them.
3 act script
  • This script follows the 3 act srtucture as it goes from an equilibreim, which to most of us would be be considered a disequliqulibreum, where wade is a bounty hunter and his soon to be feonce is a prostitute.
  • It then goes to a disequilibreum when 'Wade' is diognosed with cancer, which begins a downward spiral of the him being roped into an illigal superhero mutant program, which he enevitable escapes from leaving him disfigured and feeling he can't face his feonce again. He then sets out to seek revenge against the person who did this to him (Francis) to fix his looks.
  • He then saves his feonce from Francis and then kills him, which establishes the beginigng of the new equilibrim, which is now slightley different from the start.
Style

  • This is a screenplay style script as it uses visuals meaning it requires stage directions and location descriptions, layed out in the conventional styles of its type.
  • The stahe directions are very importsnt in the genre as it has a great impact on the mise en scene and allows the character to communicate his personality to the audience.
Toby at Breakfast on BBC Radio Sheffield.

Whilst looking through my different scripts and types of programming I have noticed that they are

very different I their approach and methods of communicating with the audience by using a certain
mode of address I.e. news report scripts are very formal whereas a chat show script is very informal
as it uses slang language and is often set in a more casual setting. I have found that more narrative
led pieces have more detail to them and have a peer to peer mode of address i.e. Peaky Blinders uses common and slang language when talking and uses a colloquial language.

This is Non fiction

Mode of address
  • The mode of address of the article is a formal teacher to pupil address. This mode of addres is apropriate for this style of  media product as it is being produced by a public servise broadcaster and must entertain, educate and inform.
Angle of the article
  • The angle of this piece is to inform the listeners about a local fighter about a sucsses in a recent fight and promotes him the local area, which he is from. The aritcle promotes Kell as a winner and has a positive out look as it is talking abou the sucseses of otherboxers aswell. This positive angle is good for a breakfast show rather than being negaitive first thing in the morning as their viewers would not like that.
Format and lay out

  •   The scriot is formatted to the left using arial font, as it dosen't use visuals the script will have no stage or acting direction menaing that the script can be layed out diffrently to a screen play as they dont need to distingush beetween the lines and the actions.

3 act script
  • The raidio braodcast is not narrative led however, the raido scripts do lay out and have diffrent segments through out the day which wil appeal to diffrent audieces. Other raidio scrits i.e. raidio dramas have a begining, middle and end to them which lays out the narrative to the audience, which shows that a narrative can be communicated using audio rather than just visuals.
Style

  • This style of script fits its purpose as it has layed out to formaly present the facts to the audiece in a consise and clear way
